Our story
Hi, we're Maison Rivage.
This started as a search for things we couldn't find anywhere else — and turned into a small shop built around them.
From our workshop
How it started
“We were tired of buying things that didn't last, so we started making the things we wanted to own ourselves.”
Maison Rivage began as a handful of pieces made in small runs for friends and neighbors. Word spread, the runs grew, but the approach never changed — every item is still chosen or made the same way it was on day one, with the same small group of people we trust.
How it's made
Every piece passes through a few pairs of hands before it reaches you.
It starts as a conversation
We sketch out an idea with the maker over calls and long email threads, arguing gently over details most people would never notice — a seam, a shade, a weight of paper.
Then a small batch, by hand
Nothing here comes off a line built to run unattended. Each run is small enough that someone can still catch the piece that isn't quite right before it ships.
We check it ourselves
Before anything ships, someone on our small team actually holds it. If we wouldn't keep it, we don't send it.
Meet us
We're a small team, and we still pack most orders ourselves.
There's no call center behind Maison Rivage — just a handful of us who started this because we wanted these things to exist, and kept going because people kept asking for more of them. If you've written in with a question, chances are one of us answered it personally. We like it that way, and we're not in a hurry to change it.
The people behind Maison Rivage
Made in small batches
We'd rather run out and wait than churn out more than we can stand behind.
Chosen, not sourced
Every maker we work with is someone we'd recommend to a friend, unprompted.
